We left the hotel at 3:00 p.m and went to the police department, showed our passports, they took a picture of Mayleah, and we received our official adoption certificate in a nice China red folder with "The Peoples Republic of China" across the front in Chinese. We were back in our room by 3:50 p.m.
Mayleah fell asleep next to me on the bed and woke up very insecure before we left. She has cried several times since. When we got back Chris stepped into the bathroom and when Mayleah pushed on the door and it didn't open she really lost it. I picked her up and tried to calm her down but that didnt' work. We will stay around here the remainder of the evening.
Tomorrow we have a free day and will leave with Jack in the morning for a tour of the city. He has been giving us information as we have been travelling. The family we were with last night in the play room had previously adopted and this was their second child. The first time they did everything in one day. With all of our meetings so far they haven't totalled 4 hours. When we walked into the police station and got up to the 2nd floor Chris did not feel well. Ask her when you see her why.
Friday late afternoon Jack will meet us in our room with all of the offical paperwork and we will say good-bye to him and that part of the process. Getting closer every day.
