Hi All,
Today was eventful and one day closer to getting Mayleah. We went to the Cloissoine Factory (very interesting and time consuming). The workers work in very poor working conditions and the work is intensive and long. We then went to the Great Wall. This was impressive! My legs are definitely feeling it. We then went to a group "dinner" with a large lazy susan in the middle of the table at this Chinese restaurant. There were many different dishes. We tried most...but there was one that even Ken said that shouldn't be eaten. After we ate, we drove by the Olympic Stadium and then came back to the motel. Our evening is free until tomorrow at 8:30 am. We will do Tianamen Square, a rickshaw ride, an acrobat show tomorrow night and then we fly out Sunday morning. We got our itinerary for Monday. We get Mayleah 3:30pm Monday afternoon, so that will be 2:30 am your time. So, when you wake up on Monday morning we will already have our little girl. I talked to our guide today about visiting the orphanage and she said to see how Mayleah is handling life. Because if we go back and visit she might think that we are "returning" her. That would not be good. So, we are going to play it by ear. Sitting at the lunch table with other families and finding out what led them to adopt has been totally amazing. God is working in many families to give these little girls' an opportunity to know Him and to have a better life. The pictures will speak for themselves. I hope you are enjoying your snow. It is cold here, 30+/- degrees but no snow. Chris
Some things to know in China-always bring your own toilet paper...
-never drink the tap water...
-never eat the meat if you are not told what it is...
